Working with Assets Add Asset (Smart Create)

Create an asset using one of the verified data sources.

  1. Click the Smart Create button

  2. Initially set the option you would like to search by


    Vehicle Registration: The registration plate currently assigned to a vehicle. If a registration plate was previously assigned to an vehicle, and is not assigned to one now, the vehicle details will show.,

    Vehicle VIN: The Vehicle Identification Number associated to a vehicle from creation, otherwise known as the 'Chassis Number'.

    Trailer VIN: A Vehicle Identification Number associated to a trailer from creation, otherwise known as a 'Chassis Number'

    Serial Number: The serial number associated to an asset, not including VIN.

  3. A.
    When only a single result is found the Asset found box will appear showing the details available.

    If multiple results are found then a table will show with all available options. This is usually present when entering a serial number.

  4. Click 'Select' in either of these screens to open the Asset screen with fields pre-populated

  5. Enter / amend any details as required and click 'Save'

Manual Create

If the asset that you are looking for is unavailable, click the create manually button to open the 'Create Asset' screen without any pre-populated data.
